Emma Creates

Last night D asked Emma to be quiet..(she’s quite a chatter box) and she found it very difficult. So he put a timer on to see how long she could last without talking. She lasted 1 minute 47 seconds. She tried again and got the hang of it and it turned out that a lengthy enforced silence resulted in this beautiful creation.

I love how Jodi and I are looking rather androgynous and Emma is clearly a beautiful princess. (PS I have her permission to post this)

I used to have a home schooling blog, but don’t have the time to maintain it. I have imported all the posts to this one because I still want to record the kids achievements and learning. Here’s a picture Emma painted yesterday.

The other day D stuck a few large pieces of paper on the wall, grabbed some markers and started to draw. Of course the kids joined in, (including R1, which resulted in more pen marks on the walls that on the paper) and this is E5′s work. She worked away at it quietly.

She has paid attention to detail…I have curly long hair, Dad is tall with short hair, B3 has spiky hair, R1 is in my arms with no hair at all, and she has drawn herself with long hair. I love our tummies! And that we are all holding hands.

Plasticine

I bought the kids a pack of coloured plasticine and let the play. E5 created these little ones. While it’s fun and creative, it’s also good for their fine motor skill development.

Daffodil

Today E5 went outside and picked this ~~weed~~ daffodil. Then she drew it. It’s very Charlotte Mason, but I didn’t have anything to do with it. I didn’t suggest she do this. It was entirely her idea.

Then she wrote this with my help. The second part says “Signed by…”

And then she decided to add a black vase with blue water. Of course because there is water, there must also be a fish blowing bubbles.

The Playdough Picture

Here’s another of E4′s latest creations. She drew the picture first and later added the playdough bits for the hair etc. It was all her own idea. I love the way she has used the yellow playdough for her blonde hair.

Yesterday E4 had a great time creating this little masterpiece! She spent such a long time on it and I think it’s beautiful.

B2 Draws

B2 hasn’t been the keenest drawer, and is reluctant to colour in. If he has a colouring in book out he brings it to me to colour for him. However, I bought some white board markers for a little white board the kids found in the garage the other day and it seems he likes it.

Here’s his first ever recognisable picture: (Note he has drawn the entire thing upside down)

I love the look on his face. He was so proud. (I am too!)
